Heavy Bag Power Drills
Power training is something we do in conjunction with our technique training. It is not done for time, it is done through repetition. For example, we will do twenty five right crosses. The idea is to do one at a time focusing on doing them correctly and as hard as you can without hurting yourself. To avoid hurting yourself start slow and work your way up. It is like lifting weights, it takes time for your strength and power to increase. Nothing happens in a day.
Your focus is solely on every individual punch or kick (power is developed the same with both kicks and punches). We don’t want to try and focus on developing power while doing the training combinations because power will naturally increase as our power increases in the power exercises.
